Ekka 2021

Midas Gelbvieh has had a great time at the Ekka in 2012 taking 3 broad ribbons with all three animals shown -- first it was Midas Windlass G005 who won her class 16-20 months and then was crowned the Junior Heifer Champion.

Then it was Midas Opal F045 in the 20-24 month class with 2 week old calf Midas Humvie H025 at foot winning her class. She had to wait as Ebony Lodge Sheraton D11 owned in partnership with Midas Gelbvieh won her class over 30 months. The champion senior cow was then awarded to Midas Opal F045 with Ebony Lodge Sheraton D11 taking the Reserve Senior cow.

It was then the turn to see which Midas cow would win the prestigious Grand Champion cow as both junior and senior winners were Midas cows. The Grand Champion award was presented to Midas Opal F045.

It was then the turn of our only male representative Midas Francisco F028 to strut his stuff. He won the Senior champion bull at 25 months and then was awarded the coveted Grand Champion bull soon after -- a great achievement as he was the Junior champion in 2011. He had great figures of 1112kg with 148cm EMA and 14/8 for fat. The breeders group consisting of these 3 animals was won by Midas delivering Midas as the most successful exhibitor.
